Where Our Bees Live
Our Apiaries
We started beekeeping with one apiary but soon realised more space was needed!

We now have 9 apiaries spread across Northamptonshire Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire. All of our Apiaries are located in beautiful countryside and have been chosen based on their ability to support the bees all year around.

We have been very lucky and grateful to have been offered amazing sites for our bees by loverly local land owners and farmers who all care for the countryside and who have wanted to have bees on their land.

Saxbys Cider
Saxbys Cider was our first apiary. Its an amazing location and provides great forage for the bees all season long. The bees help to pollinate the Saxbys apple orchard in spring (the apples go into Saxbys Cider!). The bees love the wild flower meadow, sunflowers and pumpkins grown by Saxbys later on in the summer. Check out Saxbys Cider website and Instagram for events throughout the year and pick your own sunflower and pumpkin events.
Spinney (Irchester)
Located in countryside near Irchester the bees love this site. There are lots of hedgerows and trees to forage in early spring with crops and wildflowers nearby throughout the summer

Oak (Farndish)
This site was named as the hives are near a prominent oak tree. These hives get visited by curious deer and the occasional badger (who has possibly tied once or twice to eat the bees honey based on damage done to the hives!)
River (Farndish)
Located right next to a tributary to the Nene River, this apiary site benefits from lots of cover from the wind. It benefits from lots of unmanaged land along the river bank that provides space for nature to do its thing, flowers and trees flourish in this area and provide nectar and pollen for the bees to feed on during the year, there are lots of brambles and ivy later on in the year for the bees to top up on.

Triangle (Grendon)
This site is set right in the middle of the countryside with forage found nearby in Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). Along with lots of hedgerows and crops all around the SSSI areas provide special opportunities for the bees to feed on wildflowers, clovers, plants and trees in these areas. This site produces amazing honey!
Church View (Bozeat / Easton Maudit)
Stunning views from this site with Easton Maudit Church seen from across the fields. Local woods nearby provide the bees opportunities for pollen and nectar during the season with willow trees not to far away providing much needed early season pollen (protein) to help the bees grow. Hedgerows and crops surround this apiary to provide local forage with areas of grass fields in the vicinity providing clover opportunities later in the year.

Doe (Clifton Reynes / Olney)
This site got named after a lovey Roe Dow deer that was nestled in the long grass next to where our hives have been placed on one of our first visits to the site. There are a good number of chestnut and lime trees for the been to collect nectar and pollen from along with hedgerows filled with hawthorn and blackthorn flowers in the spring.
Woods (Stagsden)
Our hives are spread out along the edge of a wood, lots of wildlife all around these hives with Fallow and Roe deer often seen on evening visits to the hives, Red Kites are often flying about too. The trees in the wood, hedgerows, brambles, ivy and local villages nearby provide forage throughout the seasons for the bees.

Willows (Dadford)
This site is based on a boggy meadow that runs down to a river. There are lots of willow trees on the meadow and long the river bank. The willow provides spring pollen for the bees. Nearby there are local spinneys and plenty of hedgerows all providing nectar and pollen throughout the seasons. Commercial crops and grass/clover fields are also nearby and provide some good forage for the bees!
